When is Maserati Adding New Electric Vehicles?

Electric vehicles are coming. The wheels are quite literally already in motion and it’s only a matter of time before gasoline-powered automobiles are looked at as collector’s items. Maserati has already begun its change over to electrified luxury vehicles with the introduction of the Grecale mild-hybrid crossover for the 2023 model year. Bringing the 2023 Grecale to market is the first step in our manufacturing partner’s plan called, Maserati Folgore. Maserati aims to be the first luxury brand to launch an EV sports car and the first luxury brand to have a complete EV lineup by 2025. Let’s take a closer look at what we are expecting to see in the near future.

What Will the Next Electric Maserati Model Be?

Our manufacturing partner isn’t wasting a single moment in meeting its promise to electrify its lineup by its own ambitious deadline. The next Maserati EVs slated to begin production are the GranTurismo 2+2 coupe and GranCabrio. Both will be fully electric and borrow battery technology developed for the Formula E professional racing circuit.

MotorTrend Magazine reports the GranTurismo will be available with a V-6 engine, as well as a tri-motor EV powertrain. Early performance estimates say that the GranTurismo will make more than 1,200 horsepower and hit a top speed of above 300 km/h and can hit highway speeds in fewer than three seconds.

Maserati EVs Coming in 2025

Maserati isn’t going to completely reinvent the wheel when it comes to electrifying its roster. Familiar models like the Quattroporte, Levante, and the MC20 supercar are all scheduled to be re-engineered to feature electric powertrains for 2025, per the previously mentioned MotorTrend article. Performance estimates are not yet available for these models.

An electric powertrain isn’t the only innovation coming for the new flagship Quattroporte EV. The future also holds the possibility of Maserati giving the electric Quattroporte Level 3 autonomous technology. This means it will have the capability to drive itself, with little or no human interaction on properly marked highways.

Stay tuned to the Maserati of Ottawa blog for more information about the new electric vehicle roster as it becomes available. If you’re interested in the 2023 Grecale, make an appointment with one of our product experts to start the pre-ordering process, today.
